Advancing real food access for children — in schools, at home, and through community care.

About the Foundation

Too many children in our communities — especially in underserved areas — go to school hungry, eat highly processed meals, or live in food deserts with no access to real nutrition. Olive Tree for the Kids is a nonprofit initiative born from the values of Olive Tree Artisan Market: community, nourishment, and dignity.

We work to ensure that every child, regardless of where they live or who they are, can grow up with access to real, nutritious food — not just calories.

What We Do

We focus on three critical areas to support and nourish children:

1. Real Food in Schools

We partner with local schools to bring whole, minimally processed meals to the cafeteria — free of artificial ingredients and packed with the nutrients growing bodies need.

2. Family Food Support

We distribute weekly fresh food boxes to families in need, including fruits, vegetables, grains, and pantry staples — all nutrient-rich and locally sourced when possible.

3. Community & Policy Advocacy

We advocate for better food standards in school districts and local governments, working to shift food policies that leave children behind.

Why It Matters

Childhood nutrition is directly tied to learning, mental health, behavior, and long-term well-being. Yet millions of kids across the U.S. — and right here in South Bay — are undernourished or relying on ultra-processed foods that damage their health.

We exist to change that.
